“This picture is a part of Cérémonies, a project composed of photographs taken between 2013 and 2015 in numerous French public schools, in various regions, areas – urban, rural, suburban – and diversified social backgrounds. Cérémonies focuses for the most part on physical education classes, using this visually expressive context to investigate one’s attitudes toward rules, the self, and one’s relationship to other in a group or society.”
