KAWS applies his instantly recognizable XX eyes to Charles M. Schulz’s iconic 1950’s “Peanuts” characters. KAWS has revisited “Peanuts” on numerous occasions, here abstracting Snoopy, Woodstock and their companions by superimposing their forms in alternating white-on-black and black-on-white. While exercising total control in all his works, KAWS replicates the jittery line of Schulz’s original drawings in “Man’s Best Friend” to create a frenzied network of monochrome.
