This KAWS open edition Companion features a full-body in brown with tones of white and gray. The characteristic round belly, X-eyes and the white gloves of these ‘Companions’ remind of the artist his earlier cartoons. They reflected the desire of the artist to make his work more accessible to the public.
The figures were released through KAWSONE, MoMA, and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and stand at 11 inches tall. The toy figures are so popular that the first time the Museum of Modern Art presented them in their design store, the museum’s website crashed frequently because of the enormous amound of interest.
