ARSHAM Studio

Daniel Arsham is a contemporary artist based in New York City who was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1980. He is known for his multidisciplinary approach to art, which combines elements of sculpture, architecture, and performance to create striking and thought-provoking works that challenge our perceptions of time, history, and material culture. Arsham began his artistic career as a young artist and co-founder of the design and architecture firm Snarkitecture in 2005, where he collaborated with a range of clients and artists on various design and architectural projects. He later established his own artistic practice and began exhibiting his work in galleries and museums around the world. Arsham's work is characterized by a distinctive aesthetic that blends elements of contemporary art, pop art, and postmodernism to create visually arresting sculptures, installations, and performances. His pieces often incorporate eroded and decaying objects that suggest the passage of time and the impermanence of material culture. Arsham has exhibited his work in major institutions and galleries around the world, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Tate Modern in London. He has also collaborated with a range of artists and designers, including Pharrell Williams, Merce Cunningham, and James Franco. In addition to his artistic practice, Arsham is also an author and designer. He has published several books on art and design, and has worked on a range of design projects, including collaborations with fashion brands like Dior and Adidas. Overall, Daniel Arsham is a highly influential and innovative artist whose work has had a significant impact on the world of contemporary art and design. Through his unique approach to material culture and the passage of time, he has created a body of work that is both visually stunning and intellectually engaging.
