Jacques Tange

The work of Jacques Tange (1960) is included in various museum collections both in the Netherlands and abroad. Nationally and internationally, Tange's work is exhibited, and he has also become a staple in some of the most prominent private collections. Jacques Tange’s art speaks to a universal audience. Using bright primary colors, he continuously reinterprets the theme of "longing"—longing in all its forms, in love and life, for home and distant places, for present and past. This theme of desire runs as a central thread through his creations. Through paintings, pastels, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, and even furniture, Tange consistently surprises and transports his audience into this world of longing. Jacques Tange's personal style is unmistakable in each of his artworks. In addition to his remarkable sense of color and theme, he also uses beautiful materials. From oil on canvas to stunning pastel drawings on paper, and silkscreens with over 25 layers in very limited editions, to handmade and hand-painted frames—no detail is spared in Tange’s dedication to his art.
