Paolo da San Lorenzo

Paolo da San Lorenzo (1935) The art of Paolo da San Lorenzo is expressionistic. Through the light of his inner inspirations, he expresses his thoughts. His technique partially recalls the German Expressionists and the French Fauves, who created their art with quick, precise movements and bright colors on large surfaces. In the late 1950s, during his time in France, he found his artistic voice, inspired by the genius of Picasso, who introduced him to Cubism. His mentor, Picasso, challenged Da San Lorenzo to always paint to his limits, with intensity and speed. With his brushstrokes and spaces, Da San Lorenzo lets his imagination explode in a quest for a new, pure vision of the objects he entrusts to the canvas. He confronts our minds with a Cubist expression of explosive, captivating, and ingenious painting, creating a form in such intense light that anyone who views his masterpieces is hypnotized. “You don’t just casually walk past a painting by Paolo da San Lorenzo,” says an enthusiastic collector. Lorenzo’s works are not merely decorative pieces or art objects valuable solely because they’ve been bought and owned. They stay present, impossible to overlook, continually captivating and stimulating the imagination. Collectors fortunate enough to own a Paolo da San Lorenzo agree: “I don’t even notice the other works in my collection anymore, but Paolo’s paintings are so striking that I must look at them—and with great pleasure.” Paolo da San Lorenzo has refined his style to produce masterpieces that will endure as monuments of modern art. Through his works, he brings smiles, laughter, dreams, genuine pleasure, and a refuge for humanity, which already bears such heavy burdens. We stand in deepest admiration for the genius of this artist, who reaches a global audience through his work.
