Ronald Boonacker
Ronald Boonacker is a self-taught artist who began painting during his many travels. His love for art was first expressed through art lectures in Rome, Florence, and Venice. He primarily works with acrylic paints in bright, vivid tones, occasionally incorporating silver or gold. Boonacker has an optimistic view of life, with tropical beaches, islands, and palm trees being his favorite subjects. It’s no surprise that his works are titled Una serata Toscana, Royal Palms, and Route du soleil. Does he draw most of his inspiration from abroad? “Actually, yes. I enjoy working from picturesque surroundings. After spending some time in such places, inspiration comes naturally. I’m often moved by something in the landscape, like a sunset or the way the light falls. That stays with me.” However cosmopolitan his art may be, the foundation of his paintings lies in traditional Dutch still lifes and landscapes. Boonacker undeniably has his roots in the Netherlands.
