Leiden Art Route 2026

Art Route Leiden with Giueseppe Lamers

During the Art Route on September 26 and 27, the exhibition “Sculptures” by Dutch sculptor Giuseppe Lamers opens at Kunsthuis Leiden. He will be present himself during these two days of the Art Route to explain his work in an informal atmosphere. Giuseppe Lamers (1966) is a Dutch sculptor, born in Roermond. Since 1993, he has been creating ceramic and bronze sculptures in which connection, love, security, and transience take center stage.

With his abstract visual language, he creates images that leave room for the viewer's imagination and personal interpretation. His flowing, organic forms balance between figuration and abstraction. As Lamers himself says: “The challenge lies in creating an emotion in a sculpture that ensures someone who is touched by it remains connected to it forever.”

In addition to ceramic sculptures, Lamers also creates bronze statues and works in which his sculptures are integrated into specially manufactured Corten steel columns. All ceramic works are built up by hand, glazed, and fired at high temperatures. Thanks to this artisanal process, every piece is unique and suitable for both indoors and outdoors.

We look forward to welcoming you during the Art Route!
