Elvira Bach
German artist Elvira Bach is known for her colorful work, which centers on strong femininity. Bach was part of the Junge Wilde, a group of German artists whose work was characterized by expressive paintings in bright colors, created with swift and broad brushstrokes. In 1982, Bach became the first woman to participate in Documenta, the world’s most important exhibition of contemporary visual arts. From that moment on, her work has traveled across the globe, with exhibitions in New York, Basel, London, and Paris, and her art is included in the collections of MOMA and numerous other leading museums.
