Mr. Brainwash

Thierry Guetta (1966), also known as Mr. Brainwash, is recognized as one of the most talked-about street artists of the 21st century. Born and raised in Paris, he moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s to pursue his career. His cousin, the artist Space Invader, introduced him to the world of street art. Starting in 2000, Guetta focused on filming street artists, and over the next decade, he transitioned into becoming an artist himself. What began as street graffiti evolved into sought-after pieces showcased at leading art fairs. He gained global fame through the 2010 documentary *Exit Through the Gift Shop*, directed by none other than Banksy, and has since remained in the spotlight. The high-profile nature of his first solo exhibitions, beginning in 2008, also contributed significantly to the launch of his career.
